Ted Nugent In Concert - Nashville, TN Ryman Auditorium 7/28/2013
The Motor City Madman, Ted Nugent, returned to one of his favorite cities to rock, Nashville, TN, to perform his show at the mother church of country music, The Ryman Auditorium. It’s ironic to say the word “Church” and Ted Nugent in the same sentence! Ted Nugent didn’t calm down his profanity filled concert while performing in one of Nashville’s first churches. If he did calm it down, then I wouldn’t want to see the normal performance! Concert Blast was invited to this performance to cover the Motor City Madmouth… uh… I mean Madman and we were excited. The main things we were excited about was seeing one of our favorite rock singers, Derek St. Holmes, perform the songs he helped made famous in front of a large excited crowd, and to interview the opening act, the young rock beauty from Australia, Laura Wilde. Enjoy the concert review from Mike Arnold.

The Monkees In Concert - Nashville, TN
Concert Blast was invited to cover The Monkees in concert as they returned to Nashville, TN to perform at the historic Ryman Auditorium. With The Monkees touring without Davy Jones, many fans were wondering how good could it be. Other devoted fans of Davy Jones can’t imagine seeing them in concert without the main front man. Mike Arnold was available to capture this event and he’s glad he went. Not only did the artists make this event a fun show, the enthusiasm of those in attendance added to the atmosphere to bring this party to life! Enjoy Mike Arnold’s concert review as he steps through every song on the set list!

Bree
It was another music filled July night in Nashville, TN as new artist Bree performed in the historic Cannery at The Mercy Lounge. Bree recently did a media blitz to push her album debut, “All American Girl”. This show wasn’t necessarily a show for the media, but a show for her friends as she celebrated her birthday, which is why Concert Blast wanted to be a part of it. Mike Arnold covered this concert review by himself due to Brian Hasbrook being on vacation and Tom Thompson having a last minute family emergency. Mike started the podcast with a short talk with Bree, then stepped through each song of her performance. After the show Mike spoke with the drummer, David Castello and a post show discussion with Bree before his recap and rating. Enjoy our 253rd podcast and/or read the written blog on the Bree Concert Review!

One of Concert Blast’s favorite bands from the 80s is the Hard Rockers Cinderella. When we got the word that their lead singer/front man, Tom Keifer, was going to put out a solo album, we were kind of excited and sort of nervous at the same time. Excited that there was going to be more music from the voice of Cinderella, but nervous due to not knowing what style of music it was going to be. Before it was released Tom went on a solo tour with a full band of his excellent musician friends. After seeing the live show in Nashville, we were ready for the solo project. Here’s Mike Arnold’s track by track CD review of Tom Keifer’s “The Way Life Goes”.

John Waite has been a long time favorite of Concert Blast. We’ve loved his music when he was with The Babys, Bad English, as well as his solo career. John has been on our show a couple of times for interviews and concert reviews. We all agree that he still has one of the best voices in rock music today. His voice can get rock and roll gritty and then turn on the charm for a ballad that makes us think about our loved ones. So it goes without saying that we were thrilled when we received the notice that the John Waite‘s camp wanted us to review his latest CD, “John Waite – Live All Access” Enjoy the CD review written by Mike Arnold.

Bret Michael in Concert - Biloxi Hard Rock
From time to time we run across someone that impresses us with their passion and the same love that Concert Blast has for live music… Oh, and may I say their work is excellent as well. Whenever we meet these people, we want them to share their passion with our readers. We met Alabama Tina years ago at a Stryper concert in Nashville, TN and have been friends ever since. Tina has been a guest blogger for Concert Blast in the past and she has once again offered her services to cover one of her favorite rock artists (and friend), Bret Michaels. We’ve followed Bret for years and would love to have him on our show someday, but until then we will just discuss his concert. Tina is sharing her Biloxi, MS trip as she reviews Bret Michaels in concert… ENJOY!

Fans From Australia - CMA Music Festival 2013
As we approached the last night of the CMA Music Festival 2013, we were sadden to see it all come to a close, but we were even more saddened to experience the sets that were shortened due to the threat of the bad weather which was approaching downtown Nashville, TN. This Sunday night Concert Blast staff consisted of Mike Arnold, Tom Thompson. And our guest Will Perry, as he substituted for the ill Brian Hasbrook. Listen to this podcast and/or read Mike Arnold’s blog on the coverage of this fun, but disappointed evening as we covered (in order) Brad Paisley, The Band Perry, Jake Owen, and Carrie Underwood.

Concert Blast Los Angeles Friends at the CMA Music Fest 2013 - Saturday 6/8/2013
It was night three, Saturday, during the stadium concerts that the CMA Music Festival 2013 got the biggest surprise on the history of the festival and Concert Blast was there to cover it. There were the guest hosts of the night with Willie, Jase, and Si Robertson from the popular TV Show, Duck Dynasty, but that wasn’t the biggest surprise. The Country Music Festival was turned into a rock and roll party as super rocker, Lenny Kravitz made an appearance to see how country fans liked rocking. They like it for about 15 to 20 minutes before they had enough and was ready to get back to the country side of life. Listen to this podcast (or read this blog) from Mike Arnold and Tom Thompson as they covered (in order) Florida Georgia Line, Lenny Kravitz, Dierks Bentley, Kelly Clarkson, and headliner Keith Urban, not to mention the other surprise guests and the fans we talked with… ENJOY!

Crowd for Grits and Glamour
As we continue our CMA Music Festival coverage from 2013, Mike Arnold narrated this podcast on some of the various stages that they have to offer for the fans in attendance. The outside stages are free for all, but the intimate stage in the Music City Center (the Fan Fair area) had a ticket price with it, although the price was included if you had a four day stadium show admission ticket. Enjoy listening to this podcast of the various performances by (in order) Lady Antebellum, Marshall Tucker Band, Grits and Glamour (which is Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan), Mac Powell (of Third Day with his rockin’ country side), Lucas Hoge, Bo Bice (with friend Hollywood Yates performing together), Wynonna, Julie Roberts, David Nail and The Goo Goo Dolls (yes at the CMA Fest!). Enjoy listening to this podcast and/or reading Mike Arnold’s blog about the fun adventures. Special Thanks to The Old Spaghetti Factory for sponsoring Concert Blast during the CMA Music Festival 2013!

Pat Benatar / Neil Giraldo
Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo returned to Nashville, TN for another rock performance at the historic Ryman Auditorium. Pat, Neil, Mick Mahan (bass), and Chris Ralles (drums) performed to about 2,000 fans from the 80′s rock music era. Since this was a last minute approval, Brian Hasbrook and Tom Thompson were already obligated for other personal events. This left Mike Arnold to perform all the duties (take photos, take notes for a review, and update our social media throughout the show). Mike called on our past Concert Blast guest blogger, Terri Gibson, to come to his aide. Terri obliged to attend the show and write the review. Thanks Terri! Enjoy her coverage of the Pat Benatar / Neil Giraldo concert.
