Jakob Dylan In Concert - Photo From jakobdylan.com
Wriiten by Guest Blogger Josh Jackson
I’ve never been a super-huge fan of Jakob Dylan, but have always respected and admired his talents from afar. I had my first introduction to him back in 1995 when the then unknown Wallflowers opened for Chris Isaak at TPAC. I was able to see the Wallflowers one other time, a wonderful show at the now defunct 328 Performance Hall, but lost touch with their music, not paying too much attention to it after 2000’s Breach.

Sheryl Crow - In Concert Nashville, TN
Written by James Downing
If you remember a few months ago, I reviewed my less than pleasurable experience seeing Sheryl Crow at The River Bend Music Fest in Chattanooga, TN. It wasn’t that Sheryl was bad, she was great, but what I was told was a front row seat was actually a seat quite a ways back from the stage behind a general admission area and the band was on a stage that was at least 40 feet high. Now for a casual music fan, that would have been satisfactory, but I am not your casual music fan. When I go to a show I like to be as close to the stage as possible, especially when it comes to a favorite of mine like Sheryl Crow. I was glad that I had the chance to see her perform several shows on this tour because the other shows that I attended more than made up for the sour taste that was left in my mouth after the Chattanooga show.

Farm Aid - 25th Anniversary Concert
Written By Guest Blogger Josh Jackson
October 2, 2010 marked the 25th Anniversary of Farm Aid, the concert started back in 1985 by Willie Nelson to provide relief for America’s family farmers. Since it’s inception, stars from all genres of music have joined Willie and board members John Mellencamp, Neil Young & most recent appointee, Dave Matthews to form star-studded events for the cause. One would hope that after 25 years the problem would have been corrected, but there is still a great need to provide help to farmers across the country. As Willie stated this year, ‘The great thing is we’re still around 25 years later. The bad news is…we’re still around 25 years later.’
So, once again a massive event was hosted to support the American family farmer. And for the first time, the event was held in Milwaukee at the fabulous, Miller Park: home to the Milwaukee Brewers.

Americana Music Festival - Courtney Jaye
The Concert Blast continuation coverage of the Americana Music Festival in Nashville, TN, finds Mike, Brian, and James back at The Cannery for the last night of the festival. Mike was looking forward to seeing Mike Farris and the Cumberland Saints Revue in concert as well as the night’s closing act, Todd Snider and his Rock and Roll Revue, which included an All-Star Band. James was looking forward to seeing one of his all-time favorite singer/songwriters, Susan Cowsill perform as well as the creator of the classic hit “Polk Salad Annie,” Tony Joe White. Brian was up for anything that night, so he and James stayed in the Mercy Lounge while Mike roamed both floors trying to cover as many acts as possible.
