Jason and the Scorchers In Concert
Perry Baggs, former drummer of Jason and the Scorchers, passed away from kidney failure and complications from diabetes on July 12, 2012. Several Nashville based musicians contributed their time, energy, and talent to provide a way for the family of Perry Baggs to be able to give his body a proper burial. Over 500 rock music fans and friends of Perry Baggs packed Nashville’s historic rock music club, the Exit In, by contibuting $20 for the admission ticket to help with this cause and to have a fun time remembering the music and life of Perry Baggs. Concert Blast was invited to the infamous Swine Ball, Nashville’s “pig nose-optional” soiree, is the middle-class answer to the galas and balls of Nashville’s elite. With a history that spans three decades, the extremely popular event was resurrected, “pigger than ever,” in 2010 after a five-year hiatus. The Swine Ball serves as the official kick-off event for the not-for-profit Music City Festival and BBQ Championship to be held August 24-25 in Riverfront Park with The Fabulous Thunderbirds (August 24th) and Grand Funk Railroad (August 25th). This year, the event will celebrate its 30th year as a Nashville tradition. Michelle Arnold was on hand for the Swine Ball 2012 photos… ENJOY!

CMA Music Festival - Riverfront Park Crowd for Sawyer Brown
Every year since 2007, Concert Blast has made a trip to the CMA Music Festival held in Nashville, TN during the second week of June. We always try to cover every night of the stadium concerts, but we always try to cover some of the special events. Concert Blast photographer Brian Hasbrook took photos throughout the week and here is his work of some of the special events we attended. Steve Winwood with Michael Franti & Spearhead Concert Fans
On Friday May 18th, Steve Winwood and his opening act Michael Franti & Spearhead performed a benefit concert for Radner Lake in Nashville, TN. The Woods Amphitheater at Fontanel was extremely packed. If the show wasn’t completely Sold-Out, it was very close. In fact the general admission area in the back sold-out days before the concert and there were only a few reserved seats available.
