Elvis - The King of Las Vegas

Back in the late 1960s Elvis Presley started a trend in Las Vegas that still continues today, rock music at casinos. This trend seemed to work for the casino business, although I personally never understood the mix. If you are visiting a casino, it seems to me that music would be the last thing on your mind, unless you are celebrating a huge payoff! If I wanted to attend a concert at a casino, gambling would be the last thing on my mind, but I’m not a gambler.

Meat Loaf In Concert - Nashville, TN - Ryman Auditorium
It’s been a while since Meat Loaf performed a concert in Nashville, TN, but on Wednesday August 29th the Nashville, TN, fans were ready for another concert by one of the masters of front men. Meat Loaf and his band performed an excellent set at the full, but not sold-out, Ryman Auditorium. Concert Blast co-hosts Mike Arnold and Tom Thompson were on hand and ready to record a concert review podcast, but they got the word from Meat Loaf’s staff to enjoy the show and not to worry about working… So They Did! Our friend Chris Johnson was on hand to take the concert photos for our Concert Blast friends to see… Enjoy! We cetainly did!

Grand Funk Railroad In Concert - Don Brewer
It was Saturday, August 25th, when Grand Funk Railroad returned to Nashville, TN to perform once again for the umpteenth time. Grand Funk hasn’t performed in Nashville since early in this century, but in the past they have thrilled their fans with concerts many times. With Mark Farner out of the picture these days, Max Carl on guitar /vocals and former KISS lead guitarist Bruce Kulick has filled the gap, and have done it very well. Mike Arnold, with special guest host, Concert Blast #1 fan, Vivian Johnson, were on hand to review this concert song by song and supply many live clips of this night for the podcast. Enjoy this Concert Review (audio podcast and written blog) and the special sing along at the end of the podcast with the original Concert Blast staff and GFR’s original drummer, Don Brewer!

Grand Funk Railroad In Concert - Don Brewer
Saturday August 22nd was a wet day in Nashville, TN, but by the afternoon the sun appeared to make a beautiful evening for a concert in the Music City. Approximately 4,000 Classic Rock music fans attended the Grand Funk Railroad concert at Riverfront Park. Our Michigan friend (and huge Grand Funk Railroad fan) Craig Clingan was on hand to take the concert photos of the headliner for our Concert Blast friends to see… ENJOY!

Train In Concert - Pat Monahan - Nashville, TN
Train returned to Nashville, TN to perform another one of their memorable concerts… at least they tried before Mother Nature stepped in. Train performed about fifty minutes of their California 37 Tour set before they were ordered to leave the stage and say goodbye to their 5,000 plus SRO Train fans. Mike Arnold, Brian Hasbrook, and Tom Thompson of Concert Blast were on hand to capture the live experience through a concert review podcast with lots of live clips while the fun lasted. Train In Concert - Pat Monahan - Nashville, TN
Sunday August 5th was a wet dreary day in Nashville, TN, but it didn’t stop the SRO 5,000 plus Train fans to attend the Train concert at the uncovered amphitheater, The Woods at Fontanel. The rain stopped before the crowds appeared at the venue and it looked to be a beautiful night for a concert. Unfortunately the weather forecasted a major storm heading for Nashville, which cut the entire night short for all three acts on this bill. However, Brian Hasbrook was on hand to take the concert photos of Train before the venue shut down the show… ENJOY!

Duran Duran In Concert - Biloxi, MS
Guest Blogger Tina Williams once again lent her concert review writing skills to Concert Blast to provide us with a review of Duran Duran‘s Hard Rock Live show in Biloxi, MS. Scott Stapp of Creed in Concert - Nashville, TN
It was Sunday July 29th when Creed rolled in to Nashville, TN to thrill their fans once again. In the past they performed at our former large amphitheatre and our huge arena, but this time around they performed at the intimate Ryman Auditorium. They moved from 18,000 seat venues to a 2,300 seat venue… and it wasn’t close to a sellout. The balcony was at 90% capacity with the floor about 60%. Mike Arnold and Tom Thompson were on hand for this night of hard rock music as Mike wrote the concert review… ENJOY!

Creed In Concert - Nashville, TN - Ryman Auditorium 7/29/2012
It was a hot July day in Nashville, TN, but when the sun went down and the stage lights inside the Ryman Auditorium lit up, the night became even hotter! Creed returned to the Music City with openers Like A Storm and Eve To Adam. This was a night of high energy hard rock. Mike Arnold and Tom Thompson was on hand for this event, but this post gives all the credit to our Concert Blast friend, Samantha (Sam) Shrader as she took the concert photos of Creed. Jason and the Scorchers In Concert
Perry Baggs, former drummer of Jason and the Scorchers, passed away from kidney failure and complications from diabetes on July 12, 2012. Several Nashville based musicians contributed their time, energy, and talent to provide a way for the family of Perry Baggs to be able to give his body a proper burial. Over 500 rock music fans and friends of Perry Baggs packed Nashville’s historic rock music club, the Exit In, by contibuting $20 for the admission ticket to help with this cause and to have a fun time remembering the music and life of Perry Baggs. Mike Arnold was on hand to take the photos of this night… ENJOY!
