Mike Arnold and Tom Thompson of Concert Blast were ready to see their New Zealand friends again when Like A Storm headed to Nashville, TN as the opener for Creed latest tour. The Brooks brothers (Chris, Matt, and Kent) of Like A Storm (along with a touring drummer) opened the night to get the Sunday night crowd at the Ryman Auditorium into a hard rockin’ mood for a night of fun as Creed ended the night on a “Higher” note. Kyle Cook and Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty
On Friday August 10th 2012, our Concert Blast friend and guest blogger Tina Williams (aka “Alabama Tina”) and her husband Jonathon joined a small, but packed room to enjoy an acoustic set and conversation with Rob Thomas and Kyle Cook of Matchbox Twenty. Nashville radio station 107.5 The River hosted this special event for winning fans / media only at their station’s room known as the Direct Auto Insurance Garage. Concert Blast was invited to the infamous Swine Ball, Nashville’s “pig nose-optional” soiree, is the middle-class answer to the galas and balls of Nashville’s elite. With a history that spans three decades, the extremely popular event was resurrected, “pigger than ever,” in 2010 after a five-year hiatus. The Swine Ball serves as the official kick-off event for the not-for-profit Music City Festival and BBQ Championship to be held August 24-25 in Riverfront Park with The Fabulous Thunderbirds (August 24th) and Grand Funk Railroad (August 25th). This year, the event will celebrate its 30th year as a Nashville tradition. Michelle Arnold was on hand for the Swine Ball 2012 photos… ENJOY!

Dolly Parton
On Friday morning, August 10th, 2012, Concert Blast was invited to a press conference with Dolly Parton as she was presented the Gold award from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for the two disc set, “An Evening With… Dolly“, available at the Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores. Special Thanks to the public relations and marketing company, Webster and Associates LLC, for the invitation and to Michelle Arnold for stepping in to help our team cover this event. Although there was a Question and Answer section of the press conference, the media’s questions were not recorded loud enough, therefore they were edited out and you will only hear Dolly Parton talking. Rod Stewart In Concert
On Tuesday, July 24, 2012, Rod Stewart stopped his Heart and Soul Tour in Nashville, TN for a performance at the Bridgestone Arena. Rod mentioned this was his first visit to Nashville since 2004. The packed house proved that Nashville loves Rod Stewart and was willing to pay a hefty price to see him perform in concert. Mike Arnold was invited to cover this rare event and as a long time Rod Stewart fan, he was more than pleased to attend! Enjoy his concert review as he steps through the evening’s set list.

On Saturday July 7th, Ringo Starr turned 72 years of age. He spent the evening of his birthday working in Nashville, TN at the historic Ryman Auditorium as he performed with his All Starr Band to a Sold-Out crowd. On this tour, the band consisted of Todd Rundgren on guitar, Richard Page (Mister Mister) on bass, Steve Lukather (Toto) on lead guitar, Gregg Rolie (Santana, Journey) on Hammond B-3 Organ and Keyboards, Mark Rivera (Billy Joel) on saxophone, keyboards, and percussion, and touring drummer Greg Bissonette. Stevie Nicks In Concert
Stevie Nicks returned to the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN on Tuesday, July 24th to perform as a solo artist this time around. As the opening act on the Rod Stewart / Stevie Nicks Heart and Soul Tour, the Fleetwood Mac singer and solo artist took the classic rock audience through a journey of her career and the musical life of a classic rocker!
