Bree
It was another music filled July night in Nashville, TN as new artist Bree performed in the historic Cannery at The Mercy Lounge. Bree recently did a media blitz to push her album debut, “All American Girl”. This show wasn’t necessarily a show for the media, but a show for her friends as she celebrated her birthday, which is why Concert Blast wanted to be a part of it. Mike Arnold covered this concert review by himself due to Brian Hasbrook being on vacation and Tom Thompson having a last minute family emergency. Mike started the podcast with a short talk with Bree, then stepped through each song of her performance. After the show Mike spoke with the drummer, David Castello and a post show discussion with Bree before his recap and rating. Enjoy our 253rd podcast and/or read the written blog on the Bree Concert Review!

One of Concert Blast’s favorite bands from the 80s is the Hard Rockers Cinderella. When we got the word that their lead singer/front man, Tom Keifer, was going to put out a solo album, we were kind of excited and sort of nervous at the same time. Excited that there was going to be more music from the voice of Cinderella, but nervous due to not knowing what style of music it was going to be. Before it was released Tom went on a solo tour with a full band of his excellent musician friends. After seeing the live show in Nashville, we were ready for the solo project. Here’s Mike Arnold’s track by track CD review of Tom Keifer’s “The Way Life Goes”.

Laura Wilde In Concert
Concert Blast was invited to cover the Ted Nugent concert in Nashville, TN at the Ryman Auditorium. We noticed that there was an announced opening act that we didn’t know much about. Once the research began on Laura Wilde, we became excited not only to cover her show, but to enjoy her concert. We were also thrilled to have been accepted to have a pre-show interview with the twenty-three year old lead guitarist from Australia. Not only was she a lot of fun to talk with, her album called “Sold My Soul” had the 70s rock sound that is missing from today’s radio. Enjoy Mike Arnold‘s photos of Laura Wilde in concert and a few shots from her Meet and Greet after her performance.

John Waite has been a long time favorite of Concert Blast. We’ve loved his music when he was with The Babys, Bad English, as well as his solo career. John has been on our show a couple of times for interviews and concert reviews. We all agree that he still has one of the best voices in rock music today. His voice can get rock and roll gritty and then turn on the charm for a ballad that makes us think about our loved ones. So it goes without saying that we were thrilled when we received the notice that the John Waite‘s camp wanted us to review his latest CD, “John Waite – Live All Access” Enjoy the CD review written by Mike Arnold.

Ted Nugent In Concert - Nashville, TN Ryman Auditorium 7-28-2013
Posted On 7/30/2013
On Sunday, July 28 2013, Mike Arnold and Tom Thompson of Concert Blast experienced something they had been waiting to see again since 1977. Ted Nugent and the fabulous singing voice of Derek St. Holmes touring together. Ted Nugent has always been a great show man and an excellent guitarist, but the voice behind Ted’s music is none other than Derek St. Holmes. We’ve seen Ted several times without Derek and there’s no comparison. Mike Arnold took the photos of this historic evening at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN… ENJOY!

The Monkees returned to Nashville, TN to perform at the historic Ryman Auditorium. This is the first time in many years that the three surviving members of the The Monkees toured together. Concert Blast was invited to cover this event, so Mike Arnold headed to downtown Nashville, TN to join in on the fun that was created by these former TV stars (and the fans)… and he’s definitely glad he did. Enjoy these concert photos of The Monkees In Concert taken by Mike Arnold.

Bret Michael in Concert - Biloxi Hard Rock
From time to time we run across someone that impresses us with their passion and the same love that Concert Blast has for live music… Oh, and may I say their work is excellent as well. Whenever we meet these people, we want them to share their passion with our readers. We met Alabama Tina years ago at a Stryper concert in Nashville, TN and have been friends ever since. Tina has been a guest blogger for Concert Blast in the past and she has once again offered her services to cover one of her favorite rock artists (and friend), Bret Michaels. We’ve followed Bret for years and would love to have him on our show someday, but until then we will just discuss his concert. Tina is sharing her Biloxi, MS trip as she reviews Bret Michaels in concert… ENJOY!

Fans From Australia - CMA Music Festival 2013
As we approached the last night of the CMA Music Festival 2013, we were sadden to see it all come to a close, but we were even more saddened to experience the sets that were shortened due to the threat of the bad weather which was approaching downtown Nashville, TN. This Sunday night Concert Blast staff consisted of Mike Arnold, Tom Thompson. And our guest Will Perry, as he substituted for the ill Brian Hasbrook. Listen to this podcast and/or read Mike Arnold’s blog on the coverage of this fun, but disappointed evening as we covered (in order) Brad Paisley, The Band Perry, Jake Owen, and Carrie Underwood.

Carrie Underwood In Concert - CMA Music Festival 2013
It was the final night of the CMA Music Festival 2013 at LP Field in Nashville, TN, as the best festival in country music comes to a close. On this night the Concert Blast staff of Mike Arnold, Tom Thompson, and guest Will Perry took the field for the coverage. On this night we didn’t have as many photos due to everyone’s set being cut short. Brad Paisley and The Band Perry performed only two songs while Jake Owen was allowed only one song. The headliner Carrie Underwood got to perform longer, but not her usual CMA Music Fest set. Why the short sets? Because the weather people predicted major storms coming, so they wanted to video all the acts for the upcoming ABC TV Special (August 12th) before the rain hits the stadium. Enjoy our photographs of our last night of fun at the stadium concerts.

Fans at Riverfront Park Enjoying the CMA Music Festival 2013
Throughout the CMA Music Festival 2013, Concert Blast enjoyed all kinds of experiences. There’s all type of fun from being with fans at the Riverfront Park and stadium concerts, watching the happenings on the street, and many other aspects of this annual event. But what really makes this festival a success is the artists donating their time to entertain us, the city of Nashville, TN, the media (like Concert Blast!), and of course the fans who travel from down the road as well as from around the world to enjoy this week. Check out the photos taken by Mike Arnold, Tom Thompson, and guest Will Perry (substituting for the sick Brian Hasbrook) throughout the weekend.
