It was Saturday night, the third night of the CMA Music Festival 2013 stadium concerts, and of course Concert Blast was there to cover the shows… well Mike Arnold and Tom Thompson were. Brian Hasbrook called in sick for the remainder of the festival, which means that the excellent photos from Brian that we always rely on will be missing. Tom had to step in as the emergency photographer and Mike took a few shots as well, as we tried to capture our best of the night. Our photo work doesn’t compare to Brian Hasbrook or Samantha Shrader, but we did out best to give you our best photo coverage of the night. On this night of the CMA Music Festival we covered Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Kelly Clarkson (with her guests Trisha Yearwood and Jason Aldean), and the surprise guest performer of the night, Lenny Kravitz. The night was also co-hosted by Willie, Jase, and Si Robertson from the TV show Duck Dynasty. There were also some photos of two members of Little Big Town as they announced a performer taking the stage for the ABC TV special footage. Enjoy Tom Thompson and Mike Arnold‘s photos from Saturday night’s CMA Music Festival 2013.

Crowd for Grits and Glamour
As we continue our CMA Music Festival coverage from 2013, Mike Arnold narrated this podcast on some of the various stages that they have to offer for the fans in attendance. The outside stages are free for all, but the intimate stage in the Music City Center (the Fan Fair area) had a ticket price with it, although the price was included if you had a four day stadium show admission ticket. Enjoy listening to this podcast of the various performances by (in order) Lady Antebellum, Marshall Tucker Band, Grits and Glamour (which is Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan), Mac Powell (of Third Day with his rockin’ country side), Lucas Hoge, Bo Bice (with friend Hollywood Yates performing together), Wynonna, Julie Roberts, David Nail and The Goo Goo Dolls (yes at the CMA Fest!). Enjoy listening to this podcast and/or reading Mike Arnold’s blog about the fun adventures. Special Thanks to The Old Spaghetti Factory for sponsoring Concert Blast during the CMA Music Festival 2013!

Pat Benatar / Neil Giraldo
Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo returned to Nashville, TN for another rock performance at the historic Ryman Auditorium. Pat, Neil, Mick Mahan (bass), and Chris Ralles (drums) performed to about 2,000 fans from the 80′s rock music era. Since this was a last minute approval, Brian Hasbrook and Tom Thompson were already obligated for other personal events. This left Mike Arnold to perform all the duties (take photos, take notes for a review, and update our social media throughout the show). Mike called on our past Concert Blast guest blogger, Terri Gibson, to come to his aide. Terri obliged to attend the show and write the review. Thanks Terri! Enjoy her coverage of the Pat Benatar / Neil Giraldo concert.

K-Love Fan Awards Hosts, the Duck Dynasty cast, on the Red Carpet (Phil Robertson, Ms. Kay Robertson, Missy Robertson, Jase Robertson)
It was Saturday June 1st when the nationwide Contemporary Christian Radio Station K-Love presented its first Fan Awards. Concert Blast was invited to cover this event and they all had a great time. Mike Arnold‘s wife, Sandra, came up with the idea to submit the media request to cover this event and before you knew it we received our invitations. Since the coverage was Sandra’s idea (and she knew more about this genre of music), she was invited to help out. Brian Hasbrook took some excellent photos from this Red Carpet event. Brian photographed the hosts of the evening, the Robertson’s from Duck Dynasty, Jase, Missy, Phil, and Ms. Kay, along with many Contemporary Christian artists such as Newsboys, Casting Crowns, Mercy Me, Big Daddy Weave, The Afters, Sidewalk Prophets, Mandisa, Colton Dixon, Matthew West, Building 429, and many others, also from the film industry, Alex Kendrick (“Facing The Giants” and “Courageous“), David Evans (Producer of the movie “The Grace Card“), and Stephen Baldwin (multiple TV and Films)… Enjoy the Photos!
