My wife Sandra and I were married in 1979 and lived in Madison, TN, a suburb of Nashville. In those days cable television weren’t available in our area, although if it were, we couldn’t afford it anyway. Our entertainment mainly consisted of walking to the little league baseball field behind our apartment to watch the kids play (and the parents scream!) or visit friends to play board games and play music. TV really wasn’t our main source of entertainment and you could tell it by the 13 inch black and white television we owned.

Styx In Concert - Ryman Auditorium Crowd
On Thursday, November 11th, Mike Arnold and James Downing of Concert Blast reviewed the Styx concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN as they made a stop on their Grand Illusion / Pieces Of Eight tour.
This was a different and unique concert as Styx performed two sets and an encore. Set one was nothing but the entire Grand Illusion album in order and set two included only the Pieces of Eight album in order.

Here’s a Concert Blast interview with Lawrence Gowan of Styx that Mike Arnold conducted in November, 2009. Many Styx fans continue to ask about Dennis DeYoung, not knowing that Dennis hadn’t been in the band for over 10 years. Canada’s Lawrence Gowan has stepped in and has done an excellent job!

Mike Arnold had been communicating with Styx’s publicists and management about a possible interview with their keyboardist/lead singer, Lawrence Gowan. Since they were under such time restraints, Mike and Lawrence decided to conduct their interview through email.
For those who aren’t familiar with the rocker, enjoying learning a little about Lawrence.
