The CMA Festival of 2009 was one of the largest crowds that Nashville, TN has seen in quite a while. Every year country music fans come in from all over the country, and the world, to enjoy several days of music and parties from their favorite country music artists. During this year’s events, most of the concerts were free. The weather was nice (with the exception of the one storm at the stadium on opening night). Concert Blast was once again accepted as media to cover the CMA Festival for the third straight year. With the unfortunate circumstance of having Bonnaroo on the same weekend and Brian Hasbrook being called to work in New York during the same week we were stretched. Last year we had four podcasts of the CMA Festival, but this year we were trying to be everywhere at once, so there’s only one podcast dedicated to the CMA Fest. This year, Tom attended every night of the CMA Stadium shows. Tom discusses the opening night where they had to take shelter at the Stadium due to the storms coming through Nashville. The Friday night show had special guest Kid Rock. Saturday night show had a special reunion appearance of The Judds during Wynonna’s set. Sunday night was full of today’s top Country stars including Kenny Chesney and Taylor Swift.
