Vintage Trouble with Concert Blast
During the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, TN, Concert Blast had the opportunity to interview one of their favorite new bands, Vintage Trouble. Mike received a text and a phone call from the VP over the Memphis in May media to tell us we were approved for an interview with the guys after their performance. Which was a good thing since we were up against the stage barrier ready to enjoy their show. We accepted the invitation and met three of the four guys from Vintage Trouble in their back stage trailer to discuss several topics. During the festival our audio recorder went out so we had to rely on our video. We videoed the interview and used the audio for the podcast, but also have the video here through our Concert Blast You Tube Channel. Here’s the interview with Mike and Tom leading the discussion with Ty Taylor (lead singer), Richard Danielson (drums), and Nalle Colt (guitar) joins the conversation later. Bassist Rick Barrio Dill had to leave to catch a flight at the airport as soon as they left the stage. ENJOY!

THE WHO, one of rock’s legendary and defining bands, have announced a major North American arena tour where they’ll perform their iconic 1973 double album QUADROPHENIA in its entirety, along with a selection of WHO classics. The critically acclaimed QUADROPHENIA marked the British band’s second rock opera (after Tommy), raised the bar for rock albums as an art form and hit #2 on the U.S. Billboard album chart. Founding members ROGER DALTREY and PETE TOWNSHEND will be joined by Zak Starkey (drums), Pino Palladino (bass), Simon Townshend (guitar/backing vocals), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Loren Gold (keyboards/backing vocals) and Frank Simes (musical director, keyboards/backing vocals).

Roger Daltrey Concert Review, Ryman Auditorium, Nashville, TN – Friday October 30, 2009
Written By James Downing
Many legends have graced the stage of the Ryman Auditorium over the years. On Oct 30, 2009 another name was added to that list. Roger Daltrey, lead singer of The Who made a stop in Nashville on his “Use It Or Lose It Tour.” It was the biggest crowd that I had seen at The Ryman in a while. There were Who fans from all over. I talked to many who drove many miles to witness Roger at this world famous venue.
Around 9pm the lights dimmed and out walked Roger and his band. He approached his mic and said hello and told the crowd what an honor it was to be playing at the Ryman where one of his heroes, Johnny Cash, had played many times. He said he wanted to do this tour to get his butt out from in front of the TV set and to keep his voice in good shape for the up coming Who Tour next year.
